2020 Convention Update Information
The Missouri District Board of Governors met on August 15 and elected to cancel the District Convention for 2020. Originally the District Convention was to be held prior to the SENT Celebration Event in St. Louis on October 17, but due to the COVID pandemic that event has been changed to a virtual event. Many of the other LLL Districts have likewise canceled their conventions this year as a result of the pandemic.
Welcome to our Website
Lutheran Hour Ministries will be hosting a Virtual LLL Event on Saturday morning, September 26, 2020 for all Districts and anyone else who is interested in receiving updates about LHM. Please visit http://www.LHM.ORG/LLL2020 to register for this event.
The Missouri District LLL was scheduled at our convention to elect officers for the coming biennium. We are required to vote by written ballots and consequently we will be sending out ballots to any LHM donors (members) who have attended a Missouri District LLL Convention over the past five years (from 2015-2019). Ballots will be mailed out around October 1, 2020 and must be returned by October 31, 2020.
One of the major opportunities for District LLL Members to support Special Projects of the District is by making contributions at our District Convention. Because we are not meeting in person this year, that opportunity will not exist. If you would like to support the designated Special Projects of the District (LHM Bible Correspondence Courses, LHM-Vietnam, or the Seminary Banquet for students of Concordia Seminary), please send your contributions to the District Treasurer, James Harms, 1205 South Bridgewood Drive, Columbia, MO 65203.
The Missouri District of the Lutheran Laymen's League extends to you our warmest greeting in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We are one of nearly 40 Districts of the Lutheran Laymen's League (LLL) throughout the United States and Canada. The Missouri District supports the LLL in its mission of "Bringing Christ to the Nations, and the Nations to the Church." The Lutheran Laymen's League is the parent organization of the Lutheran Hour and Lutheran Hour Ministries. In simplest terms, the LLL is who we are, and Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) is what we do.
The Lutheran Hour is now heard weekly on over 1800 radio stations in the United States. It is also broadcast through the Internet and via American Forces Radio. Each week the Lutheran Hour reaches over one million listeners with the message of the Gospel. It is the oldest continuously running Christian radio program, having originated in 1930. LHM currently sponsors a variety of programs and ministries in the U.S. including the LHM Men's Network, LHM Learn on-line courses for spiritual growth and outreach, and Project Connect. More information about these and other programs may be found at the website for Lutheran Hour Ministries. Please visit this site to explore some of the many ministry programs of LHM.
LHM also works through more than 35 international ministry centers to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people around the world. The Missouri District LLL works with LHM Vietnam to help share the Gospel in word and action. More information about the international outreach efforts of LHM can be found LHM Global Ministries.
